Overage is billed after each month closes, on the lower of that month and the one before, and we email you the amount before charging it.How overage works
Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. Cancel anytime from your account; you keep access through the end of the period you paid for.
History is how long TokenFront keeps your cost data. How far back a first sync can reach depends on each provider's API — for example, OpenRouter exposes 30 days and AWS about 13 months.
Included spend and overage
A sliding scale, published in full.
Each paid plan includes a monthly amount of tracked AI spend. Above it you pay a fixed rate per extra $1,000, lower on bigger plans, and Scale's overage has a ceiling. Here's exactly how it's worked out.
- What counts
- Tracked AI spend is the provider-reported cost TokenFront syncs from your connected platforms in a calendar month. Costs you enter by hand don't count.
- What each plan includes
- Pro includes $10,000 a month, Business $75,000 and Scale $250,000. Free covers up to $2,500 and is never charged. If two months in a row go over, syncing pauses until you upgrade; the first gets you a warning, and your data stays visible.
- The rate above it
- $3 per extra $1,000 on Pro and $1.50 on Business. On Scale, $1 up to $1M of spend, then $0.50, and overage stops at $2,100 a month, so a monthly Scale bill never passes $2,499. Charged pro rata: $500 over on Pro is $1.50.
- One bad month never raises your bill
- Each month is billed on the lower of that month's spend and the month before's. A runaway month, the thing TokenFront exists to catch, doesn't cost you more here.
- You see it before you pay it
- The Billing page shows spend so far this month and where it's heading, and the account Owner gets an email at 80% and 100% of the included amount. After the month closes (on the 3rd, once providers finish reporting), we email the Owner the amount and how we got it, then charge it 3 days later as its own invoice. Under $1 isn't billed.
- Only months you paid for
- Overage applies to full calendar months on a paid plan. Your first partial month, and the 14-day trial, are never charged overage. On a paid plan, going over never blocks, pauses or hides anything.
- When to move up
- Moving up costs less once you pass about $46,700 a month on Pro, or about $241,700 on Business. Plan changes are self-serve, anytime, from Manage billing, and never raise overage: a month you changed plans in is billed at whichever plan you held gives the lower amount.
